  1. EIMS 2.x->SIMS Mailbox Converter 1.0

The EIMS 2->SIMS MBox application can be used to copy messages from the EIMS 2.x  (referred to as EIMS below) mailboxes (which have a slightly different format than that of MailShare/AIMS/EIMS 1.x) to SIMS user accounts. This utility does not convert account information (such as password, mirror lists etc.). You will have to set this information using CommuniGator or web interface after conversion.

  5. Important: SIMS accounts will be recreated during convertion. You may want to backup your existing SIMS Folder (in the active System folder).

  7. Step 1. If the SIMS application is running, quit it now.

Step 2. Find the "Mail Folder" inside the System Folder on the server machine (or in the folder where the EIMS Server application is installed). This folder contains files for all EIMS mailboxes (and some additional files). Drag that folder (or an alias to it) onto the "EIMS 2->SIMS MBox" application.

  11. Step 3. If EIMS used to serve sveral domains you'll be presented with a dialog allowing you to select the default domain for SIMS. Accounts in additional domains will be created in the SIMS Folder as accountName%secondary.domain.

  13. Step 4. Launch SIMS and connect to it using either CommuniGator application or web interface. Set attributes for converted accounts.

  15. The application does not modify files in the Mail Folder.
